“Fu Jen Catholic University, being one of the well-recognized universities in Taiwan, provides ample opportunities to excel in what one is gifted. As an international student in the Graduate School of applied science and Engineering, I enjoy the friendly atmosphere all around. Well qualified, committed and approachable faculty makes me to be at ease with courses/subjects. Some of them are excellent guides in the field of research. I do find well-furnished class rooms and good laboratories equipped with advanced instruments. Some of the researches are very novel and relevant. I am really amazed and appreciate the office staff/International student’s office for their generosity and availability for any kind of help. They take care of all the formalities that I have to do as a foreign student. This makes things very much easy for me. I indeed enjoy the good company of classmates/research group mates who always walk an extra mile with me. I am sure that everyone who walks into Fu Jen, will definitely be able to realize his/her dreams. "

"I am so grateful to several individuals who significantly impacted my academic and personal journey. My deep appreciation goes to Fr. Leszek for being a transformative figure in my life, providing unwavering support, mentorship, and helping initiate my academic path from Tanzania to Taiwan. I also extend heartfelt thanks to Dean Wang (Dean of College of Science and Engineering), Professor Yong-Yi Fanjiang and other faculty and staff at Fu Jen Catholic University for their academic guidance, resource provision, and personal encouragement.
I must say the students at Fu Jen Catholic University are incredibly fortunate with the abundant resources available in the library, labs, and all around the campus, which make working and studying so much easier. The well-stocked library offers a vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources that are essential for research and study. The labs are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and tools, providing hands-on experience and practical learning opportunities that are crucial for our academic and research projects.
The enormous support provided by faculty and staff enabled me to overcome initial fears, thrive academically, and grow as a researcher and individual. I pledge to honor the contributions I received by promoting the institution and mentoring others. "

“Compared to studying in Taiwan and my home country, the teaching quality in Taiwan is at par with that of some of the best Western and European universities. For example, FJCU has all the necessary facilities for conducting research in science and engineering, and most importantly, professors have a wide range of networks with other universities within and outside of Taiwan. This was one of my major reasons for studying in Taiwan, aside from having a conducive environment for learning in a culturally rich country. The Philippines is still at the stage of catching up with the educational standard of the rest of the countries in the Asia region. Although we have produced plenty of excellent scientists in our country, with the fast-paced innovation in science and technology, I think Taiwan is at the top of the list. The Philippines still has a lot more to learn.”
"I would say my key achievements studying in Taiwan are gaining experience and learning that I probably wouldn’t get if I did my graduate studies in my home country. In the future, when I start to establish my career in the Philippines or elsewhere, I can also share those learnings with other people. Not only that, I also believe that as an international student, I am enriching the community in Taiwan by interacting with local students. Especially, communicating in English. I would encourage interested overseas students to study in Taiwan. They will be able to learn the country’s interesting culture, learn the beautiful, albeit complex, language, exotic food, and well-preserved natural scenery. It is as fulfilling and satisfying studying and living in Taiwan as any other country abroad.”

I specialized in Mathematics as a doctoral student, and in addition to this, I studied AI-related subjects to improve my employment competitiveness. I like Taiwan’s living environment and the availability of many opportunities in the high-tech industry.
