Fu Jen Catholic University is one of the universities enjoying high reputation not only in Taiwan but also around the globe. Fu Jen Catholic University was re-established in Taiwan in 1961. The College of Science and Engineering (originally named the College of Science) was founded in 1963 by the Society of the Divine Word (SocietasVerbi Divini or SVD).

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) is one of 13 academic colleges in Fu Jen Catholic University. Since the beginning, it has taken the responsibility of educating students to become advanced scientists and engineers. The College consists of 6 departments, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, Computer Science and Information Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, 2 bachelor's degree programs, and  the Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Engineering and 2 research centers. Bachelor's and master's programs are available in each department. The Chemistry Department offers a separate doctoral program. There are two bachelor’s programs in Medical Informatics and Innovative Applications and Artificial Intelligence and Information Security. The college is also home to an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Applied Science and Engineering.

The College building, the Cardinal Tien Memorial Building was completed in 1969, featuring the shape of a dragon, with consecutive winding corridors connecting the Department of Mathematics, Physics, Life Science and Chemistry. The Science and Engineering Classroom, completed in 1967, is used for large classes and lectures. The Divine Word Academic Highrise, completed in 1997, houses the Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, in addition to two bachelor's programs, Medical Informatics and Innovative Applications and Artificial Intelligence and Information Security. The new Advanced Laboratories of the College of Science and Engineering,  completed in 2023, is the  University's first green building.

With nearly 130 faculty and 3340 students, we are one of the outstanding Colleges of Science and Engineering in Taiwan.
