Dean Wang’s academic expertise includes computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, image processing, artificial intelligence, and intelligent video surveillance.

He has served as a director, supervisor and secretary-general of the Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Society of the Republic of China, a director of the Information Services Association of Colleges and Universities of the Republic of China, a member of the Research Committee of the Telecommunications Quality Consumers Association of the Republic of China, a member of the selection committee for government public procurement cases, and served as a review committee member of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. At Fu Jen Catholic University, he also served as the director of the Institute of Science and Technology, director of the Information Center, director of the Foreign Computing Center, and person in charge of Internet and distance learning.

After Dean Wang takes office, he will make good use of the existing research energy of each department, expand and integrate cross-field technology research and development and industry-university cooperation, strengthen forward-looking education and talent cultivation in artificial intelligence, and maximize the effectiveness and value of the new laboratory building of the Science and Technology Institute.
